Houston billionaire may be charged for helicopter-hunting trip in Russia

Dan Duncan, a Houston billionaire, claims he didn't know shooting a moose from a helicopter was illegal - even though the practice has been banned in the US for quite some time. U.S. attorneys say Duncan violated the Lacey Act by bringing the trophy home.

In the U.S., laws governing the methods by which game may be harvested are guided by the Boone and Crockett "Fair Chase" doctrine. It is well-known among sportsmen that hunting from an aircraft is not only illegal but immoral as well.
